The recent opening of the YRP Exhibition in New Delhi marks an important step in the partnership of academic, governmental and municipal agencies working together to address global issues for rapidly developing cities. With the Delhi Jal Board, the Yamuna River Project presented design strategies, research, and proposals for re-imagining a 28km stretch of the Najafgarh Drain. A delegation of University of Virginia faculty and researchers, alongside Yamuna River Project directors Inaki Alday and Pankaj vir Gupta, engaged in a series of presentations, symposiums and lectures with ministry and governmental officials at the India Habitat Centre in March, including Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal. A full schedule of events can be found alongside the exhibition announcement here. Additionally, a full report from the India Habitat Centre and a 2016-17 Yamuna River Project Report about the current status of the project, progress and projected visions will both be available for review at the beginning of May 2017.
