Governance of the Yamuna, Benjamin DiNapoli, 2016.
John Echeverri-Gent, Associate Professor of Politics, University of Virginia
The complexity of Delhi’s government and social structure creates a difficult and often contested dialogue revolving around solutions for the Yamuna River crisis. Conflicting goals and intentions and opposing stakeholders often leave potential solutions at a standstill.
Stakeholders will need to engage in an attitude of compromise, communication, and transparency with each other and the population they serve in order to develop a solution to Delhi’s ecological concerns.
