In September of 2019 Pankaj Vir Gupta, Co-Director of the Yamuna River Project spoke at the Common Room Foundation in New Delhi. He discussed what Urban ecology means in the context of New Delhi with a special focus on the Yamuna River Project and proposing question such as; What are the broad contours of a holistic approach that can guide concrete interventions to improve the life of the city? How should different levels of governmentwork together? Is it possible to project a more inclusive vision of city life? etc. The Yamuna River Project is uniquely positioned to confront these critical questions on urbanity and its intersection with an increasingly fragile ecology.
