In October of 2018, 13 graduate and undergraduate students from landscape architecture, architecture, and urban planning traveled to India with professors Maria Gonzalez Aranguren and Pankaj Vir Gupta for a 10 day research trip. During this trip, students visited two cities; New Delhi and Chandigarh seeing both planned and unplanned urban fabrics. Within these cities students visited a variety of sites around the city to understand urban life in contemporary India from different perspectives. Some of these sites included Connaught Place, Shahpur Jat, Asian Games Village, walks along the Najafgarh Drain, and Jama Masjid.
In addition, students met with and presented their work to Keshav Chandra, CEO of the Delhi Jal Board; Nidhi Srivastaba, Deputy Commissioner of the South Delhi Municipal Corp; Mriganka Saxena, Architect and Urban Planner; and Randhir Singh, Architect, Photographer and Researcher in New Delhi.
