Humayan’s Tomb Educational and Ecological Park builds off of the current revitalization efforts by the Aga Khan Foundation in the area to unwrap the zone around Humayan’s Tomb to create a Utilitarian Public Space. The Public Space, an Educational and Ecological Park, becomes an urban catalyst and nexus within the fabric of the city to strengthen and improve the flows and connections of the site. The park acts as a mediator between human, infrastructural, and natural systems to create an asset for the city, while also addressing and improving the health of the Yamuna River and New Delhi’s water systems.

By claiming space for the public in this area and by creating and reinforcing connectivity, this project defines Humayan’s Tomb and its surrounding area as a prominent urban structure that not only serves the tourist, but the city as a whole with the aim to improve both human and environmental health.
